Security Guarding – Top Up
Highfield Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) (Scotland) is compulsory training for those who are seeking to renew their SIA Security Guarding Licence. The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has made the Top Up Security officers course a prerequisite qualification to apply for Security Guard license renewal.
This qualification consists of the following units:
- Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in The Private Security Industry
- Principles of Minimising Personal Risk for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry
Unit 1 – Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in The Private Security Industry
This unit is assessed by a 10-question multiple-choice examination. The examination duration is 20 minutes. Learners must achieve a score of at least 70% to pass.
Unit 2 – Principles of Minimising Personal Risk for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry
This unit is assessed by a 16-question multiple-choice examination. The examination duration is 25 minutes. Learners must achieve a score of at least 70% to pass.
