Door Supervision

It is essential that all individuals working in the private security industry undergo a structured training programme that results in a recognised qualification.

The SIA have developed a competency (skills) requirement as part of the SIA licensing function. Individuals applying for a front line SIA license must prove that they have attended a properly held training course and are properly qualified to do their job.

SIA training for those wishing to begin work as a Door Supervisor. On successful completion of the course, and passing the required examinations, delegates will be able to apply for the Door Supervisor's license which will allow the individual to operate as a qualified Door Supervisor. Begin an exciting career as a qualified Door Supervisor.

This qualification is based on the SIA specification for core competency training for Door Supervisors which covers the knowledge and understanding that all candidates must prove in order to be issued with their license to practice.

To gain your SIA Door Supervisor License, you will need to attend and take four training modules and pass three exams. The course is delivered over 38 guided learning hours, 30 hours of which are contact hours.

The core specification has changed and now includes additional requirements for all door supervisors across the U.K. in relation to:

  • First aid awareness
